Shruggie Box

Project Description

Out of the idea from British comedy IT crowd, this is a the 2018 version of the “internet black box”. It displays the Shruggie with a breathing and soothing LED. Just to remind you to take it easy.

Project Feature

Developed with OpenSCAD and iterated through a handful of prototypes. The housing consist of two parts. The outer hull lets the light from the LED shine through the shruggie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . The inner part hosts the mainboard with the ATtiny85, the three LEDs with their resistors, the switch and the battery.

Project Feature

You need:

  • 3D Printer (mine is a Malyan M200) print time about 9 hours at 0.1mm steps and 20% infill
  • 3 white LED
  • 3 220 Ohm resistors
  • 1 switch
  • 1 ATtiny85
  • 1 Arduino Uno (just for programming the ATtiny)
  • cables
  • 1 18650 battery holder
  • 1 18650 rechargeable battery
  • 1 small experimental breadboard
