The local discounter Aldi (South) has a TMI1829 based LED strip offer, which I could not resist. I bought two 5m packages, which can be hooked together to form a 10m strip.

One strip is about 45€. The TMI1829 addresses always 3 consecutive LED on the strip with one color. So you have 50 pixels a 3 LED for a 5m strip, which can be color changed. The strip runs with 12V and you can use the included Power converter to power it. How to connect it and run the strip is part of the next coder dojo session in Munich.

The strip is run by an Arduino Micro and a modified NeoPixel library.
